Twinkle Twinkle Oct 09 2004

Part of the British Council's Design UK campaign, Twinkle Twinkle brings 30 new lighting designs to Harajuku's Laforet Museum in time for Tokyo Designer's Block 2004

After seeing Ed Carpenter's cheeky little Pigeon Light in a shop in York last month, I was looking forward to seeing what else might be in store at Twinkle Twinkle. I wasn't disappointed, and was especially pleased to see unknown designers holding their own besides the likes of Ron Arad and Tord Boontje.

There was a really nice mix of styles and approaches, many of which were explained by the curator Sorrel Hershberg during Saturday's afternoon talk. It was nice to have several of the exhibits which I'd overlooked brought to my attention in the talk - one of which really shone in context.

Will write more when I upload the photos I took.
